Auxe Quick Tips #3 : Charging Port Cleaning

Is your iPhone not charging properly?

Before blaming the cable or phone, check your device's charging port. Lint and other debris from our pockets or purses gets stuck in this port and can build up over time.

This can impair the connection between the charging cable and port, inhibiting your devices ability to charge properly.

When cleaning, items you can use include a toothpick or a cue tip cut in half.

Steps to clean:
1. Power off your iPhone
2. Holding your iPhone so the backside is facing up, place the toothpick inside the charging port
3. Scrape against the back wall of the port. This will take a lot of poking and scraping. Continue to do this until the debris starts to come loose. You'll see a bit of gunk come out on the toothpick. Sometimes, you may need to carefully scrape the sides of the port, too. Debris can get lodged behind the spring-loaded anchors. Be careful not to damage the anchors.
4. Repeat step four until you're not pulling out any more debris.
